Our artists studio will offer the artist excellent natural light and the benefit of contact with our visitors.
Ideally the studio will ideally be managed to support an Artist in Residence programme with an end of residency exhibition. Over time we hope to build upon the success of our studio to offer other spaces for artists and sculptors in and around Links Gallery.
In this way, and over time, we hope to establish Links Gallery as an Artists Cluster for the North East coast, encouraging emerging talent and supporting more established artists.
Our second studio will ideally be managed to support a residency programme. The studio could be provided to artists for a period of six months with a stipend, in exchange for occasional public access, some educational work, and an end of residency exhibition.
The studios are designed and built as a flexible space which can host a variety of users and events. The studios will look to provide a Summer Residency and exhibition.
The location of the gallery and studio would in itself be very attractive to artists due to the opportunity to interact with the visiting public.
We hope that the residency will have the potential to become a famous appointment, and bring with it enhanced status for the gallery, the Beach Hut Resort and Whitley Bay as a whole.
